Summer Solstice (Litha) 2022 4:13 am CDT Tuesday June 21st.
Dear, Relaxed and Generous Children of the Earth,
Summer Solstice has arrived in the Northern Hemisphere!
Summer Solstice: the Longest Day, with more sunlight than we have at any other time of the Year! It is also the Shortest Night. The Night, it is said, when Magic is afoot and the Elemental Spirits come out to play.
As long as there have been people on the Earth, Summer Solstice has been a time to gather with friends and family, to let go of pressures, go out into nature and remember the abundance of gifts we are being given.
All of Nature is blossoming. Flowers are everywhere, fruits and vegetables are ripening and no matter who we are or where we live, there is a bird singing nearby. We all have the privilege of Summer Rain and Summer Sun, of nights open to the Stars and days with a little more time to be curious and find connections.
The Summer Solstice happens when the Sun enters the Zodiac Sign of Cancer. Cancer is the Cardinal Water Sign, the Sign of nurturance and thriving, of knowing what actions to take to ensure healthy growth.
No matter what we are going through, we are all part of Life. This Solstice, we could step outside, onto the Earth, and receive what Life is offering us: nurturance, solace, peace.
Blessed Be,
Mary

Help Me, Love Poem
Help me, love poem, rise up from the broken glass,
The time to sing has come.
Help me, love poem, to reestablish integrity,
And to sing again about pain.
The world isn't free of war, it's true,
It isn't washed of its blood, hate still exists,
It's true.
But it's also certain that we're closer to a truth.
Violence sees itself in the mirror of the world
And its face is not even attractive to itself.
And I continue believing in the possibility of love.
I'm certain of that understanding among
Human beings, achieved over pain,
Over the broken glass.
